James is a white and grey gull with an orange beak and - the detail everyone falls for - little orange feet dangling on fine chains beneath it. Each bird is cut, foiled and soldered by hand, and comes in one of severalposes: standing tall, mid-strut, or looking hopefully sideways, presumably at someone's chips.

The white glass keeps its brightness on grey days while the grey wing detail gives the bird its form in stronger light. The hanging feet swing gently in any draught, which gives the piece far more life than a fixed suncatcher.
